As Derby Lodge, Preston care home caters for Clients with a Physical Disability the house is fully adapted for the use of wheelchairs etc.
At our care home in Lancashire, we have been awarded two wheelchair awards for our accommodation for wheelchair users by RDB Star Rating along side our 5 star accommodation award.
We have lifting hoists and slings at our Preston care home to enable clients to be moved without danger to either the client or staff member.
We have a specially adapted bed/trolley to enable clients to be showered safely and comfortably in our wet room.
We have many specialist beds that enable staff to raise and lower them and to allow clients to be positioned correctly whilst in bed.
The outside area of Derby Lodge care home in Lancashire is accessed by a series of ramps and the whole of the outside can be accessed by wheelchairs.
There is a passenger lift to take clients to the first floor and the mini bus at our Preston care home has a lift attached to it so that passengers in wheelchairs can get onto the bus for trips etc. We also have two specially adapted vans that take one wheelchair each with a ramp and full safety equipment.
We have magnetic catches on doors that allow the doors to be kept open at all times for wheelchair access and these doors close automatically in the event of the fire alarm sounding.
