The Team.

Directors:

  • Mr Colin Marland
  • Mrs Barbara Marland

Colin has been a Director of Derby Lodge since it opened in 1989, he is a retired Solicitor and has also achieved NVQ level 4 in Management and NVQ level 2 in Care. Barbara became a Director of Derby Lodge in the mid 1990’s after spending many years working in Accountancy. She has achieved NVQ level 5 in Management and works daily at Derby Lodge dealing with all aspects of the Management and accounts.

Registered Manager:

  • Mrs Sue Hall

Sue commenced her working life by training and qualifying as a nurse in Preston Hospitals.  Sue has worked in care for many years and she first came to Derby Lodge in 1995 as Deputy Manager before moving to our sister home for the elderly as Registered Manager. Sue took on the management of Derby Lodge following the retirement of our previous Manager. 

Sue has achieved Level 5 in Management and her Registered Managers Award.

Deputy Manager:

  • Miss Anne -Marie O’Boyle RN

Anne-Marie trained to be a Nurse at The Royal Preston Hospital. Following her qualification as a Registered Nurse Level 2 she went to work at a Nursing Home for the Elderly in Preston where she worked for 14 years. Anne-Marie has worked for Derby Lodge since 2003 as Deputy to our Registered Care Manager.

Senior Carers:

  • Mr Joe Brown
  • Ms Sharon Burrell

Joe and Sharon have worked for Derby Lodge as Senior Carers since 1995. They had both previously worked in care looking after elderly and disabled clients. Joe and Sharon have both gained NVQ’s and have also attended many other relevant courses.

Care Staff:

Our Care Staff, most of whom have NVQ qualifications, are employed to meet the Physical, Emotional and Spiritual needs of Clients. A Keyworker System is in operation which enables the Client to have individual attention and that much needed personal touch. We believe and practice in a person centred approach allowing personal choice.

Administration Assistant:

  • Mrs Joanne Greenalgh

Joanne came to Derby Lodge in 2016 as an assistant to the Director.  Joanne has worked for many years as a Personal Assistant in management to various Directors. 

Support Staff:

The Housekeeping, Catering and Maintenance Staff play a vital role in the smooth running of the Home; their support is valued by both the Clients and carers.
